Shabana to play Psycho-mom in Gurinder Chadhdha's next! (anyone recall BinduJi's Psycho-mummy from OSO?)
In Gurinder Chadha's next Shabana Azmi plays a mother to an obese daughter who is seeing suitors for an arranged marriage. From what we hear, the movie is a dark comedy where the mother keeps killing all the suitors who reject the daughter and then doesn't even let the dead go to heaven till they find the right match for her daughter. Now, that's a killer movie to watch out for!
Abhishek Bachchan in CROOKED to be directed by Abhinay Deo
Excel Entertainment is ready to roll with a few top class projects right after Karthik Calling Karthik. One of them is the Abhishek Bachchan starrer Crooked. The film is to be directed by Abhinay Deo, who has been the talk of town recently because of the industry response to Delhi Belly and also stars Gul Panag and Jimmy Shergill with three new girls.

Filmfare featured Bruna Abdullah a few months back in the magazine as an upcoming and promising Hottie. And now she's out there sizzling on the sets of Punit Malhotra's I Hate Luv Stories with gennext heartthrobs Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor.

Who is Bruna Abdullah and why is she news?
I am very divided on Shabana Azmi. No doubt she is terrific in what she does, but she hasn;t done a whole lot of variety. At the end of the day, Shabana has always done the same strong woman in every movie. Even Makdee I don't think she was as good.
When you compare her with an actor like Pankaj Kapoor, who has done comedy, serious, villain, positive, negative, or even Tabu, she has a terrific body of work, with extremely envious variety. Shabana for me, is not as good as these guys are, just because they have proven themselves in each and every role. Tabu journey from Ruk ruk girl to Astitva, Maqbool is phenomenal to say the very least.
