Kites: When will this one take off?

Every few months we read the news about Hrithik's Kites being delayed for few more months. A movie which was supposed to release in 2009 is now expected to release somewhere in summer of 2010 at the very earliest. many reasons have been quoted for this delay, HR's courtship of Barbra Mori, thats why he was more than happy to delay the shoot by month or so, then there were rumors about Kites not being able to find any HW distributor, even Cannes trip being Epic Fail, now recently there were articles suggesting that Roshan duo are more worried about Kites being released closer to SRK starer My Name is Khan.

MNIK reason for Kites' delay

Now Rakesh Roshan himself has come out and tried to explain why its taking time to launch one of the biggest movie of his son's career. According to him "ratner Presents" venture is being edited by Brett ratner, who has Rush Hour series and Xmen 3 in his filmography, as per the taste of Western audience.

Rakesh Roshan on Kites

heres hoping Ratner doesn;t do X-Men with "Ratner Presents" ;)

Btw, I'm convinced Hrithik and the Roshans have worked out an agreement with some paps to take pictures of them while in LA. Recall that video where he said Kites will be cough, Brett Ratner presents, cough. :D

The people are who run hollywood.tv are Indian and are always harassing American celebs by asking them if they know Bollywood and sometimes go to the extent of naming some Indian stars. LOL. It's pretty funny if you've seen some of the videos.

Hahaha I don;t know about Roshans asking any pap to follow them, but I really am amazed that someone recognized him. that too some non Indian. May be your theory can not be ruled out. But it will be funny that HR had to pay to say "Ratner Presents" hahahaa the one who single handedly killed X-men

Will check out their videos, sounds interesting :D

Brett Ratner helps in giving finishing touches to English version of Kites!

Reliance BIG Pictures and Rakesh Roshan's eagerly awaited film Kites is all set to make its mark not only in India but even in the international arena. Directed by Anurag Basu and starring Hrithik Roshan, Barbara Mori and Kangna Ranaut in lead roles, Kites will be released in two versions - Hindi and English. To make the English version suitable for an international market, the makers of Kites have roped in Hollywood director Brett Ratner (of the famous Rush Hour series). Brett is currently working on the English version of Kites and tailoring it to appeal the international audience.

In the international markets Kites will release with the English and Hindi version simultaneously whereas in India, the film will release in the Hindi version. Kites is expected to cut across national boundaries and sensibilities to achieve a universal appeal. The film will see the widest possible release, both at national and international level. While the release dates will be announced soon, the Hindi version is complete and the producers are very happy with the outcome.
