In the second video link even the bloopers have Prem chopra and Ranbir as cute, endearing surds...and the chemistry is evident.

and what’s with gauhar’s oohhhh aahhhhh arrrrgghhs.... a nice seductive way to deflect director's ire !

Seeing these bloopers made me want to see Rocket Singh all over again. What a gem of a film, and so under-appreciated.

This is the movie which kind of gave me an insight of future career graph of Ranbir. He acted damn well. The movie fizzled out after starting extremely well and I think too many unknown faces in crucial role did it in and the drama did not build up properly in the end. May be I was angling more for escapist cinema ending. But still a very good movie.

Rocket Singh falls in the category of Swades for under appreciated cinema. Both were poorly advertised and released at a wrong time.

Even if YRF were not doing a decent job with publicity, Ranbir should have personally stepped in and gone on record vouching for the movie since he had built up that trust with audience with Wake up Sid and even APKGK.

A wasted opportunity for all except Gauhar, who I hope we get to see more in future.

I think films like Swades and Rocket are a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for any actor. Ranbir should count himself lucky he got the opportunity so early on! The ensemble cast was wonderful and the film had me completely in its grip from the deft story-telling.

I wonder what the Shimit and Jaideep combo have in store next, and even more I wonder what will happen after their 3 film contract at YRF expires. If Yash/Adi Chopra have ANY sense they will latch on to these gems and not let them go - that combo alone provides some credibility to the production house.

Honestly i think YRF did market and publicize Rocket Singh appropriately, given the fact the movie had a very simple story line, and there was not much to hype it up.

RK's fan base right now is mostly comprised of younger urban 20's and i did not think Rocket Singh appealed to that demographics.

What surprises me is the pace of work with these people. It took Shimit more than 3 years to bring Rocket to us which is a fairly small movie by all standards. I know creativity needs time but look at Cameron’s career who is considered epitome of creative work in current times and even he has worked at a much faster pace.

The terminator (1984)
Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985)
Aliens (1986)
abyss (1989)
terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)
true Lies (1994)
Titanic (1997)
Spider-Man and Dark Angel (2000–2002)
Documentaries (2002–2009)
Avatar (2009)
Sanctum (2010)

Cameron was essentially in hibernation, living of stories and characters created for the Terminator series that were plugged on TV. His 3 D shorts were in preparation for Avatar. In his interviews he mentions that Avatar was >10 years in genesis phase so he is not exactly a swift worker. A three year gap between films is quite the norm in Hollywood for a well written and directed effort.

This seems a pretty active career.

While making the biggie Avatar which he started in 2005 , Cameron directed several documentaries and number of television series

For most of the TV series he simply contributed "names" of characters! His last big film before Avatar was Titanic.
