By Taran Adarsh, January 9, 2010 - 16:53 IST

Just last week we had reported that KITES has been confirmed for 14th May release. The official news was shared with this writer by the distributors of the film. Now here's the latest development: The release date has been revised yet again. The film has been shifted ahead, by one week precisely, and will now arrive on 21st May. The news has been confirmed by the distributors to this writer.

Okay, now here's something interesting! With KITES now arriving on 21st May, it will now clash with the multi-starrer HOUSEFULL, directed by Sajid Khan, which has been confirmed for 20th May [Thursday]. Will we witness a royal clash on 21st May? Or will either of them shift to another date? Incidentally, Prakash Jha has confirmed RAAJNEETI on 28th May.

Our take - When Hritik shaves and shows up on TV I'll believe Kites is releasing!!

Information on Ra.1

All those wanting to know what SRK's next Ra1, here's the skinny. According to an insider, "The SFX laden superhero action film has Shah Rukh Khan playing a software engineer called Shekhar.

A geek, his favourite past time is playing and designing video games. In fact, he's so obsessed that he ends up creating a monster character in one of his games who comes alive and starts killing people in real life.

Now Shekhar has to use technology to turn himself as a super hero and enter the video game world to battle the monster. Shekhar takes on the name of RA1."

The film will be based in Miami and Hollywood crew is being used for the film. Cinematography is by Ueli Steiger ("The Maiden Heist"), while David Benullo ("Shadow Man") is screenwriter.

Kareena plays SRK's love interest in the film. The authorities have already given permission to the crew to shoot a major car chase scene sometime in March." Watch this space for more...

Our Take - get the story right, and work on the VFX, do not disappoint!

All those who thought Chetan apologized and it was a gimmick - read on!!

Do not go by the stories and headlines made by media. AFTER his CNN-IBN piece Chetan wrote this!

"Once again, thank you so much for your support. Yesterday, I was on CNN-IBN’s Face the Nation, on a general panel discussion on the Education System. However, I used the opportunity to give a few closing remarks from my side on the issue. While we maintain our stance on the issue, me and my fans want to move on, and we have."

"PS: This is only for the extra-curious types. While totally not obligated to answer any more allegations, just to clarify on the RH video – no I wasn’t given the script. A top level oral narration is something else and anybody in the film industry will tell you is very different from actually giving the written script. Notice they keep saying he has ‘heard’ the script, not ‘read’ it. In the oral narration, they told me the changes only. Please also note NDA he flashes which has a date of Oct 3, 2007, the so-called narration date. The adaptation deal was done in September 2005. Raju said it took Abhijat ‘3 yrs and 2 months’ to do the script in other interviews. Hence, even if Abhijat started on the deal date, the script was finished in November 2008. So, how could RH narrate it to me in Oct 2007? Go figure. Also, please listen to my full Bollywood Hungama interview they are quoting from, I maintain that my story is the base. Anyway, what matters is the final film vs book. Also, they did not buy rights of the book – they bought the rights to adapt the book – a basic error they continue to make – whether out of lack of knowledge or to evade the issue. And yes there is a contract to adapt the work – but it doesn’t mean they can claim authorship of the story. You can buy a painting, not claim you painted it – basic copyright law. My points are valid, and I am not a liar. Anyway, like I said, we’ve moved on."

OUR TAKE - yeah, I see that he has waved a white flag - NOT!!!

SRK overshadows the rest
TNN, 10 January 2010, 12:00am IST
Ok please. This is not a Shah Rukh Khan sychophancy club. It is just plain good reporting. When lensman Dabboo Ratnani who just won an award for being the number one and the most influential person in Asian photography launched his calendar the other night, superstars were common place.

However an observant lady guest noticed that it was only SRK who was mobbed by the photographers and the hoi polloi. This lady says, “Hrithik Roshan was there. So were Arjun Rampal, Genelia D’Souza, Zayed Khan, Vidya Balan and others. However, it was only SRK who got the people present in raptures. Both the press and the junta couldn’t have enough of him. Ideally all other ‘superstars’ should time their entry and exit differently from Shah Rukh. When the Badshah of Bollywood is around, even the Gullivers of Bollywood resemble Liliputs.

OUR TAKE - truth hurts, suck it up!!!

Let me end with a list - 20 SF movies we'd like to see most in 2010! YAYY, bring them on - sp. Ironman 2!!
